Vineyard & Production:
The grapes for this wine were harvested from vineyards in Northern Sonoma and Rutherford in Napa Valley. The harvest began on October 9th and was completed on the 11th. The average sugar was 26.7 degrees brix, a TA of 64mg/1000 and a pH of 3.55. The wines were fermented separately in stainless steel tanks using Syrah and M2 yeast and pumped over for 5 times per day for 6 days. The wines were blended and aged in new and once used French oak for 17 months. Bottling date: February 23rd, 2009.
Winemaker Notes:
The color is opaque with a purple edge that clings to the glass. The aromas are of dark cherries, blueberries, currants and wild flowers. Ripe, rich and spicy flavors of cassis, berries and dark chocolate. Rich, dense and concentrated with well integrated tannins. |
