Vineyard & Production:
The grapes for this wine were harvested from a vineyard located near Zinfandel Lane just south of the town of St Helena in the center of the Napa Valley. The harvest date was October 8th with a sugar of 27.6 degrees Brix, a TA .63mg/100ml and pH of 3.49. The fermentation was five days in a small stainless tank using Syrah yeast and pumped over for 1 hour 6 times per day. The wine was aged in new French oak barrels for 17 months and bottled on February 23rd, 2009.
Winemaker Notes:
The color is dark red, with aromas of wild berries, cocoa and fresh cherries. Lively and spicy on the palate, with flavors of fresh cherries, raspberries and espresso bean. Very full and rich on the palate, tannins are lively and long. |
